What if you don't use Windows Media Center?

Well you'll be glad to know that users who choose to steer away from the evils of Window Media Center (e.g. Media Portal or DVB Web Scheduler) can simply skip step #2! You can still use the XMLTV: Guide Pack to download your XMLTV data, you just won't need to install or configure the WMC: Guide Service Proxy component!
